Read below about our Amp technician, Pete Medvick:
“My first job in the business was fixing guitar amps and PA equipment at Kalua Music from 1970 to 1972. After that, I attended George Brown College for a 2-year electronics course from 1973 to 1975. The sound equipment store Power Supply was my next gig from 1975 to 1980, running the repair department, fixing guitar and bass amps and all aspects of sound equipment. My next 4 years were spent on the road playing keyboards in a band. I came off the road and started my own repair business in 1975 and have been operating it ever since.
I have done work for The Twelfth Fret, Long and McQuade, Westbury Sound, Encore Music Exchange, Coll Audio, Backline Plus and of course Lil Demon Guitars, as well as for many other local and touring musicians. I have also done a lot of sound mixing for bands from Folk to Jazz, Blues, Rock, Country, Latin and World music. I have also worked at the Rogers Centre aka. SkyDome for the last 25 years engineering sound for musical acts, as well as press conferences, corporate meetings and events.
Modding and rebuilding amps has been my passion for the last 40 years.
I’ve been building my own line of amps under the FUNK FARM name since 2011. Everything I have learned in the last 45 years in the Music business from many different points of view has culminated in my skill to make the best sounding amps possible.”
